Back 4 Blood is a game that I really, truly wanted to love. It has all of the things I love in it. Zombies, tons of weapons, gore, cheesiness, awesome characters, the ability to play with friends and it even has an awesome jukebox.
Unfortunately, the user interface was not friendly or easy for me to navigate. The idea of being thrown into a random map to keep things fresh sounds fun at first glance, but I can assure you, I had no clue what the heck I was doing or what I was trying to accomplish most of the time. I felt very lost. I just wrapped up adding chapters to the 5 stream videos we’ve got saved on our YouTube channel. That in itself was hard because we jumped around so much. I’m still lost.
The graphics are amazing. There is SO much nasty goo and gore and blood everywhere. Something about the combination of movement and the graphics made it so I’d get dizzy and have a headache after playing it for too long. Which is sad, because I love nasty goo, gore, blood and monsters.
The only thing that made this game enjoyable for me was having a tour guide join us who knew so much about the game that it was impossible to mess up too badly. I don’t think that’s how games are meant to be played, even though I appreciate TurkeyDounoughts help tremendously and had a blast playing with him.
I know there are so many people who still love this game, and believe me, I so want to be one of them.
